This is a urinary microbiome test for females.

Chronic urinary tract disorders are extremely common in females, with a staggering 1 in 3 having a UTI by the age of 24! Disruption of microbiota composition and functions, termed dysbiosis, is common in a multitude of urinary disorders, including acute and recurrent, chronic urinary tract infections (UTIs) and interstitial cystitis.

This test has been specifically designed to investigate the female urinary microbiome by assessing key commensal, pathobiont, and pathogenic bacteria commonly associated with urinary conditions.

The information gathered from a test can be used to inform changes in a client’s lifestyle, diet, self-care or other interventions.

Proper collection of urine samples for microbiome analysis is key to reducing contamination from the skin and vaginal species. To ensure proper collection, this test uses an easy-to-use, clean-catch, mid-stream urine collection device allowing for a more accurate representation of the microbiota residing in the urinary tract.

When To Order This Test:

• If you suffer with chronic urinary tract disorders, UTI's, urinary tract disorders, cystitis, bladder infections, kidney infections, interstitial cystitis, urinary urgency or urinary incontinence.

• If you suffer with frequent painful urination, nocturia (urination in the night-time), changes in colour in the urine (cloudy, dark and strong smelling), burning or stinging pain on urination, fever, malaise, blood in the urine or pain in the pelvic area.
