This test aims at detecting alterations of the Th1/Th2 balance. The test allows clients and their healthcare providers to follow-up on Th1/Th2 balance during therapy and to evaluate whether a protocol is effective.

One theory of immune regulation involves homeostasis between T-helper 1 (Th1) and T-helper 2 (Th2) activity. Recent studies suggest that allergy and inflammation is due to Th2-weighted imbalance. Those with Th2 dominance may have more food allergies due to production of more antibodies.

This test can also be used in adjunct to SIBO testing, especially if a SIBO test comes back negative, but symptoms persist. This test can aid in the assessment of hydrogen sulphide-producing bacteria contributing to symptoms.
